I Chronicles 22:19 "Now set your heart and soul to seek the Lord your God. Therefore arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy articles of God into the house that is to be built for the name of the Lord." Growing in our relationship with God is the most important thing we can do. We need to be careful not to let anything get in the way of it. In fact, we must even learn to guard against letting the things of God become more important than knowing God Himself. It's easy to get caught up in the "good things". Doing good, behaving good and just knowing that we are a "good person." In that we sometimes lose track of the one who blessed us with all good things. We must be established and strong in our Lord to not let these things distract us from our pursiut of God. Ps. 84:5 tells us that those whose hearts are "set on the pilgrimage" are blessed. I Chronicles 22:13 reminds us of how we prosper "Then God will prosper, if you take care to fulfill the statutes and judgements with which the Lord charged Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and of good courage; fear not nor be dismayed. We can never be truly devoted to or successful in our lives to know God unless we first understand that God gives us times of peace and rest so we can give ourselves, heart and soul, to seeking Him. Without that understanding, we will not recognize those gifts of quiet time that God gives us. In addition to making wise use of the time God gives us, we must also be diligent in the things He gives us to do. We are to serve Him in an unwavering devotion knowing that the Lord honors those who honor His Word and seek Him with all there hearts.
